A few weeks ago we had a nice day in Zaandam and Amsterdam with friends. We ended our day with a lovely dinner (which in my brain equals BURGERS!!) at the Butcher in Amsterdam. A trendy and innovative burger bar located in the well known Albert Cuyp straat.
The Daddy: 250g of prime Aberdeen angus beef topped with melted Edam cheese, streaky bacon, BBQ sauce & grilled onion. If you prefer McDonalds over this you deserve to be locked up in a mental hospital.
The burgers were juicy and the meat was very good! The buns were soft but had enough body to handle the burger with the sauce and the juices. I can not say a bad thing about these burgers.
We also ordered popcorn chicken which was served with delicious home made BBQ sauce. This dish has nothing to do with popcorn (yes I had to google that), it is ‘just’ battered fried chicken. I never had popcorn chicken before but I really loved it. The meat was still juicy and tender and it was divine combined with the sauce. I am putting this on my ‘things to make at home’ list!
I give the Butcher 4,5 out of 5 invaders. These were definitely the BEST burgers I ever had . The personell was modest but friendly and it was no problem that I shoved my camera in their faces. I would really love to go back to try the other burgers on the menu.
